Talmadge is one of San Diego's most charming older neighborhoods and this kitchen remodel fits right in while feeling completely fresh. This project had a clear point of view from the start and we ran with it.Dark navy cabinetry, a full height dark zellige-style tile backsplash, warm wood floating shelves, glass front upper cabinets, and an arched plaster niche detail give this kitchen more character than spaces twice its size.

A built-in wine fridge, brass hardware, and an eclectic gallery wall running along the dining side of the room make it feel genuinely lived in and personal rather than showroom perfect. The white island and countertops keep the contrast balanced so the darker elements feel rich rather than heavy. The apron front sink, the lush plants styled throughout, and the warm wood dining table nearby all reinforce a kitchen that was designed for someone who actually loves being in their home. It has warmth, edge, and a lot of soul.

This is the kind of project that reminds us that good design does not have to be neutral to be timeless.
