The San Simeon Project
Bonita, Ca
This Bonita project was a real space planning challenge and one of the most rewarding to solve. The home needed to function for a multigenerational family, which meant reconfiguring the layout to accommodate a brand new mother-in-law suite, a completely rebuilt kitchen, and an updated guest bathroom, all without the home feeling chopped up or disconnected.
The kitchen is massive and designed to handle it. All white cabinetry, an oversized island, a professional range, and a bold geometric patterned tile backsplash make the space feel high-end and purposeful. Floating wood shelves, brushed brass fixtures, and a mix of pendant styles add warmth and personality to what could have easily felt sterile at this scale. A built-in bar and wine fridge tuck neatly into the layout, adding function without taking anything away from the overall flow.
The space planning throughout the project is what makes it work. The mother-in-law suite was carved out in a way that gives that space genuine privacy and independence while keeping the main home feeling whole. Every square foot was considered and nothing was wasted.
The result is a home that works harder than it did before and looks significantly better doing it.
